Despite Inter Miami’s goalless start to the preseason, David Ruiz claims that Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez are still looking “like they did in Barcelona.”In their preparations for the 2024 MLS season, the Florida-based team has failed to score in a draw with El Salvador and a close loss to FC Dallas. After reuniting in America, Messi and Suarez had a part in both of those matches.
They have had opportunities to score, as Messi nearly scored against Dallas directly from a corner, but they are still waiting on their first team effort with Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets, two more former Barcelona players. Although they are not yet operating at full capacity, those in their immediate vicinity assert that they have witnessed enough to indicate that it is only a question of time until they do.
Teenager Ruiz of Inter Miami, who is rubbing elbows with all-time greats, has remarked that he draws inspiration from some of the greatest players who have ever played the game: “I am learning how they read each other, how they combine, and how they get to the final third, just like they did in Barcelona.”In addition, Inter Miami’s efforts to become more effective in the final third were highlighted by Honduran international midfielder Ruiz, who had a breakout year in 2023: “We are trying to keep as many players up high as we can, in the area, to finish, and we are working to improve that every day.” We believe we are ready because we are gaining experience in the preseason to prepare for the upcoming season.
Inter Miami is getting ready to resume their demanding friendlies program by traveling to Saudi Arabia. While in the Middle East, they are scheduled to play Al-Hilal and compete in the Riyadh Cup against Al-Nassr and Cristiano Ronaldo.
