The Uruguayan forward joins the list of recent high-profile additions for the team that David Beckham co-owns. After his contract with Brazilian Serie A team Gremio was fulfilled, he will become a free agent and join the club. He joins former Barcelona teammates Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets at the Florida-based team in addition to Messi.

Suarez, who turns 37 in January, participated in the 2023 season for Gremio in Brazil, where he scored 29 goals in 54 games and helped the team win the Campeonato Gaucho and Recopa Gaucha.
