What are the latest trends in nail art designs?
According to CND cofounder Jan Arnold, the seasons play a huge part in what’s trendy. For instance, “coming out of the dreary, winter months, people are craving some fresh, clean and bright colors.” She says this spring is all about “clean, cheery and whimsical but dimensional like under or overtones of shimmer, holographic and reflective shine.”
As we head into fall and winter, nail artist Jinsoon Choi expects to see a resurgence in traditional moody shades like burgundy nails. However, some unexpected colors and designs can help balance out the darkness. She recommends a light cerulean blue to elevate denim pieces. “Sea Clay is a moody, stylish cerulean blue for an understated look,” she says.
However, deep jewel tone shades will generally reign this fall and winter. “I would definitely call burgundy a fall staple in the color realm,” says Steph Stone, Essie celebrity manicurist. “It’s like when September rolls around, everyone starts instinctually craving pumpkin spice lattes—the same thing happens with nail colors. Maybe it’s something about our wardrobes changing and wanting to lean into colors and clothing that feel cozy.”
