In Al Nassr’s first match of the new 2024/25 season, Cristiano Ronaldo left his mark.
The Saudi Arabian Super Cup semi-final was a fairly straightforward affair for Al Nassr. They took the lead against Al Taawoun thanks to Yahya’s goal in the 8th minute. In the 57th minute, Ronaldo doubled their lead. The Portuguese star produced a precise finish from inside the penalty area.
Al Nassr won 2-0 to secure a place in the Saudi Arabian Super Cup final against Al Hilal. For Ronaldo, the joy was double as he became the first player in history to score in 23 consecutive seasons.
Ronaldo’s first professional goal was scored in October 2002, when he scored two goals in a match between Sporting Lisbon and Moreirense.
This is a record that will be hard to beat in the future. The most impressive thing is that, even in the final phase of his career, Ronaldo has no plans of stopping. The Portuguese star continues to dedicate himself intensely to the games and even aims to win the 2026 World Cup.
The first title of the 2024/25 season is within reach for Ronaldo and his teammates. Meanwhile, fans of the 1985-born striker are eagerly awaiting his 1,000th career goal. Ronaldo currently has 896 goals in all competitions.
The Sport Bible recorded some notable comments: “Ronaldo is getting closer and closer to the 1000-goal mark; I am sure Ronaldo will reach 1000 goals before he retires; I will be very happy when Ronaldo reaches 900 goals and then reaches the 1000th; Ronaldo already has 896 goals and of course that is not the limit for him.”
