Al Nassr are reportedly looking to complete two big signings this summer to appease star Cristiano Ronaldo, who has expressed frustration with the team’s recent lackluster performances.
Ronaldo suffered a humiliating defeat in the Saudi Super Cup final last weekend as Al Nassr lost 4-1 to Al Hilal in the final in Abha, Saudi Arabia.
After falling behind, Al Hilal scored four consecutive goals to secure the win. And after the second goal, Ronaldo was seen making a sleepy gesture to mock his teammates, blaming them for the defeat.
Most recently, Al Nassr suffered yet another disappointing result in the first round of the 2024/25 Saudi Pro League. They were held to a 1-1 draw by Al Raed, despite Ronaldo scoring the opening goal in the 34th minute with a world-class header.
After these unsatisfactory results, Al Nassr would be looking to sign two quality players, who have a close relationship with Ronaldo, with the aim of pleasing their star.
The first signing would be Sergio Ramos, who played with Ronaldo for nine years at Real Madrid. Journalist Jose Felix Diaz said that the Saudi club is in contact with Ramos’ brother to see if he could come in this transfer window.
After leaving Real Madrid, Ramos went on to play for PSG before returning to his boyhood club Sevilla for a season. The defender is currently without a club, meaning a move to Al Nassr is still possible should an agreement be reached between the parties.
The second target who Diaz says could join Al Nassr to play alongside Ronaldo is his Portugal team-mate Rafael Leao. The AC Milan winger has also been linked with Barcelona in recent weeks, but Diaz has claimed that the 25-year-old would join the Saudi Pro League in a deal worth €70m.
