Dogs, like people, have physiological needs, one of which is, of course, sleep. However, their circadian rhythm is somewhat different from ours.
People spend most of their time sleeping when the sun sets, that is, during the night. Dogs, on the other hand, often tend to sleep during the day while struggling to fall asleep at night.
Because of this, many owners often wonder what their furry pets actually do when the lights go out. One owner from South Carolina was determined to find out, so she installed a camera in her dog’s crate before bedtime.
It captured some interesting scenes.
As you can already see in the introduction, canines do not perceive night as the time for absolute rest like people do. Aside from that, many of them find crates a stressful environment, even though that shouldn’t be their purpose.
A dog owner from South Carolina, @felicia_nik, saw this best when she installed a hidden camera in the crate where her puppy, Wheatie, was supposed to sleep. However, she could soon see that this Poodle Bichon Frisé mix was doing anything but sleeping.
Soon after being placed in the crate, Wheatie saw the camera, which he then tried to eat several times. After several failed attempts, he got a little tired and tried to sleep, lying on his back with his paws in the air.
However, that didn’t work for him either, and he quickly got to his feet, looking for someone and expecting attention. When he realized that no one would show up, he nervously started playing with his blanket, hoping to make the time pass faster.
Unfortunately for Wheatie, time did not pass, so his last hope was to escape from the crate. He sharpened his teeth and started biting the bars. Of course, that attempt also failed, so there was nothing left for him but to lie down and fall asleep.
After a long and difficult fight with the crate and with himself, he finally succeeded.
When his mom saw the scenes her hidden camera captured, she couldn’t help but create a video and share it with her TikTok followers.

Wheatie’s owner expected that this video would attract a lot of attention, but even she couldn’t have dreamed it would be to this extent.
