They say no one is perfect. But when you meet Cyclone — a one-year-old Pit Bull mix currently at the Humane Society of Broward County — you’ll be amazed at how perfect-in-every-way some dogs can be.
Before her recent arrival at the Humane Society, Cyclone was a resident at a shelter in Manatee County, where he had been for eight good months. His stay at the shelter came to an abrupt halt following pre-storm evacuation alerts as Florida braced itself for one of the deadliest storms: Hurricane Milton.
Cyclone, along with other adoptable dogs, was evacuated from the shelter before the storm hit. Even though he’s now in a safe space surrounded by staff who love him to bits, Cyclone’s desire to have a home to call his home is greater now than ever.
@humanebroward Pajama Pup!! Meet sweet Cyclone a one-year-old pittie mix who was evacuated from a shelter in Manatee County ahead of Hurricane Milton. After spending 8 long months waiting for a forever home, he’s ready for a fresh start! Come give this lovable boy the chance he deserves. He recently had a fun day out with one of our incredible volunteers! He would really love to find a forever family to spend fun days with all of the time This is what they had to say about his big day out of the shelter: “He had so much fun..and so did we! Cyclone is such a perfect puppy! He’s super friendly with all humans and dogs, and was un-phased by the cats at the pet store. He walks well on a leash and is very curious about everything around him. The car, stairs, and elevator were all new to him, but he warmed up to them pretty quickly. He’s a huge snuggle bug and happy being a lap dog! Cyclone was the best boy in the bath and takes treats very gently. He’s a big fan of looking at himself in the mirror or watching his reflection as he walked by stores…so funny! Cyclone would love a backyard to run in or to be taken to the dog park, a canine friend to play with, and to be loved unconditionally. I promise he will give it right back to you. If you’re looking for a running buddy or a dog that looks fab in pi’s, Cyclone’s your guy!” Are you the loving family he’s patiently waiting for? If we could summarize who Cyclone is in a sentence, we’d say he’s the perfect dog lacking the perfect home. Cyclone is a complete package: He’s fun-loving, well-behaved, friendly to humans and dogs alike, isn’t phased by the presence of cats, loves cuddling, walks great on the leash, and approaches new experiences (like using the elevator) with an “I-can-do-this” mindset.
This snugglebug of a dog will charm his way into your heart with his playfulness and big heart. He loves hard and is more than eager to return all the affection you show him a hundredfold. Cyclone will fill your days with laughter, and you won’t help but wonder how dull your life was before he came along. All he asks is for you to give him a chance to experience what being part of a loving family feels like.
