Aguero, who announced his retirement from football in 2021 due to a heart condition, will play in an all-star exhibition match, according to a statement issued by CONMEBOL. Along with the former striker for Argentina and Barcelona, a number of well-known figures have also been confirmed to be taking part, including the legendary Ronaldinho of Brazil, Javier Zanetti, Lucio, Maxi Rodriguez, and Gonzalo Higuain. The game is scheduled for December 5, 2023, at Florida’s DRV PNK Stadium, home of Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami team. On November 21, tickets for the game went on sale.

Messi will have an easy trip ahead of him if Argentina advances to the main event, as the announcement of the Copa America 2024 final taking place at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens on July 14 comes just a few days after it was confirmed. On June 20, the tournament’s opening match will take place at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
Aguero suffered cardiac issues during a Barcelona game, forcing him to retire at the age of 33. After receiving a pacemaker and being advised not to play football again, he will return for the historic game, which is expected to thrill football fans nationwide.
