It has been speculated that the photograph was taken in the locker room of Upton Park in 2014, during the time that Messi was competing for Argentina in a friendly match against Croatia. In the photograph, the striker for Barcelona is seen using a towel to wipe his shoes while he is still dressed in the outfit of the Argentina national volleyball team.
